Understanding Work Order Fields and Scope

A Work Order shows the operational fields needed to deliver a job that started from an Approved Estimate, including Scope of Work and the line items carried over at creation.

Who this is for: Owners or staff who need to read what each Work Order field represents.

  • Access to view a Work Order in your workspace.

Each Work Order includes:

  • Work Order number
  • Customer
  • Service location
  • Source Estimate
  • Created and updated information
  • Status
  • Next action
  • Scope of Work
  • Line items (service, quantity, unit of measure, line total, and line status)
  • Scheduled date (when set)
  • Assignment (when set)
  • Priority
  • Directly observed internal workflow information shown on the detail page

Line items and selected customer/property information carry over from the source Estimate at creation. Later edits to one record were not observed to permanently synchronize to the other.

  1. Open a Work Order detail page and locate the Scope of Work section.

You can identify the observed Work Order fields, including Scope of Work and line items, without assuming permanent two-way synchronization with the Estimate.

  • This article documents only fields directly observed during capture.
  • Invoice and Payment fields are not documented here.
  • Deterministic product logic owns financial totals. AI does not own Work Order state or pricing.
